Electrical Designer
About the job
Our client, a leader in the field of printed electronics, is looking for an electrical designer. Working closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team, the electrical designer ensures test processes, report preparation and production support run smoothly.
Your responsabilities
- Act as the main contact to support Production and NPI when issues arise
- Perform failure analysis on customer returns
- Analyze and manage the electrical aspect of changes in ECO
- Design and maintain test tools
- Create, update and maintain assembly and testing documentation (ATP/ATR)
- Analyze test results and produce reports as needed
- Program some digital devices
- Contribute to the development of new technologies by testing new products and sharing suggestions / possible improvements
- Identify the root causes of assembly problems or productivity gaps
- Provide explanations, information and training to employees on technical issues encountered
- Draft and revise manufacturing documentation (procedures, work instructions) to clarify and facilitate assembly work in production
- Observe and analyze efficiency issues and recommend solutions
- Lead the process to improve operational practices
- Analyze workstation ergonomics
- Validate proposed engineering methods and concepts based on workers’ skills
- Define and create tools/systems to facilitate assembly
- Accompany and guide managers in defining operational issues in their sector and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Implement new ways of doing things
- Perform all other tasks related to ensuring operations run smoothly

Our requirements
- Familiarity with electronics and components
- Experience developing automated test templates
- Experience programming microcontrollers (Arduino, Pic, etc.)
- Knowledge of CAN, RS232, USB, SPI and I2C communication protocols
- Experience working with test equipment
- Proficiency with the following software: C ++, Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access), LabVIEW (asset)
- Experience working with electronics manufacturing equipment (programming, troubleshooting and repair) an asset
- Experience improving production quality using technical expertise and Lean tools
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification an asset
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken French and English
- Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
- Drive, ability to multitask efficiently and to work in a fast-paced environment
- University degree or college diploma in the manufacturing sector
